After a routine mammogram 31st January 2018, I was recalled to attend the breast care unit at Burton on 14th February 2018, a biopsy was taken, a week later I had the results and I was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer. After meeting the breast care team I felt confident, all of the options were clearly explained to me. Appointments were made efficiently, so no time delay. On the 9th March 2018 I had surgery to remove the cancer, this was very successful. I will need Radiotherapy to make sure, and I will be under the care and support of the breast care team. Miss Carmichael is the most caring and compassionate doctor and I would highly recommend her, the whole of the breast care team and the treatment centre staff.

I met with Mrs Carmichael on the day of my surgery (I had previously dealt with other equally professional members of the team prior to this) She very quickly put my mind at rest as she has a very open and straight talking manner whilst also being kind caring and warm which at a time when you are more than a little apprehensive is very much appreciated. My surgery was a success and I only have the highest praise for this surgeon and for my overall experience at the hospital

I recently had minor breast surgery to remedy and diagnose an issue around discharge from the breast. I met with Mrs Carmichael on the day of surgery having firstly seen other members of the team at the breast unit (all of whom were very professional, thorough, friendly and reassuring) I found Mrs Carmichael to be refreshingly open, straight talking and it was clear I was in exceptionally good hands. My operation went very well and I have to say the whole experience from beginning to end has been truly positive. I felt extremely well looked after and was kept well informed throughout the process I have complete trust in this surgeon and her exemplary team.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas 2017. Mrs Carmichael broke the news to my husband and I in a no nonsense but at the same time extremely compassionate way. She also gave us re-assurance that this could be removed. She also advised that it would take a couple of weeks for us to get are heads around the fact that this had happened - advice which was in hindsight very true. Throughout my treatment Mrs Carmichael, her team and all the staff at the Burton Breast Clinic have been there for me, without exception they have been supportive, efficient and compassionate. I simply cannot find fault with the service that I have received. Today Mrs Carmichael had the more pleasant job of telling me that the cancer has been completely removed, again in her supportive and compassionate manner. I feel very privileged in having met Mrs Carmichael, I only wish that the circumstances had been different!

After a routine mammogram followed by biopsies i was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer. From the very first meeting with Miss Carmichael and the breast care team I felt confident, all of the options were clearly explained to me. On the 29th of December 2017 I had two wire crescent flap surgery to remove the cancer followed by breast reconstruction, this was very successful. Miss Carmichael is the most caring and compassionate doctor i have ever met and i would highly recommend her, the whole of the breast care teamand the treatment centre staff.
